ASSISTANT KNITS DESIGNER

General Overview:

Assists on all Cut & Sew design issues

Responsibilities:

- Lab dips

• Works closely with color department on sending and tracking lab dips and advising comments to the factories
• Maintains showroom sample yardage boards and charts

-Tracking and Maintaining samples

• Tracks all protos and showroom samples
• Responsible for all proto specing and prep for fitting
• Updates all Factory development charts
• Tracks all development mock-ups and print strike-offs

-Sample room

• Follows up on all in-house development including cut tickets and finishing
• Creates development and production mock-up for out sourcing

-Development

• Assists on seasonal concepts, presentation boards and sketches
• Maintains quality boards

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• AAS or BFA degree in Fashion Design (specializing in Knits a plus)
• Basic understanding of garment construction and patternmaking
• Good communication skills- Verbal and Written
• Must be computer efficient
