ASSISTANT DESIGNER - Sweater

General Overview:    Assist Sweater Designer in all related design development functions.

Responsibilities:   

-Send out lab dip standards and advise yarn mills/agents lab dip comments.

-Prepare body boards, lab dip/color boards, yarn quality boards, concept boards.

 -Assist designer in all areas of research.

 -Help designer prepare initial tech packs by scanning in sketches, setting up tech packs in BMS and doing stitch layouts.

 -Keep track of all protosamples and showroom samples.

 -Measure all incoming protosamples.

 -Gather all necessary trims needed for protosamples and showroom samples.

 -Work with the sewers on any needed mock-ups or to add embellishment to the showroom samples.

 -Attend and participate in all development fittings.

 -Communicate daily with overseas yarn mills/agents and factories.

Success Measures:

 -Helping the designer meet deadlines.

 -Able to contribute new ideas and stitches.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

- 1-3-year experience

- Fashion Design degree with knitwear specialization or general knowledge.

 -Computer skills.

 -Excellent internship experience.
