ASSISTANT DESIGNER - OUTERWEAR

Entry level postion with room to grow for person with full Fashion Design Degree and very strong organizational skills.

Minimum 1-2 years experience in Fashion Industry, preferably in active knit apparel. Must have a love for color and/or stretch fabrics.
Very strong skills on Illustrator required. Knowledge of garment construction essential. Looking for capable, organized person who can communicate clearly and intelligently via email.

Major responsibilities will include:

• Daily correspondence with factories and agents in Asia regarding sampling & production of product.
• Labdip and print approvals. This includes being able to create a print pitch sheet and understanding repeats (training available for right person).
• Being completely responsible for the tracking and filing of print, labdip & fabric approvals for 3 designers.
• Creating initial worksheets for garment protos with correct information on details like construction, trims & stitching etc.
• Working in the showroom, helping designers set up and breakdown for appointments.
• Being responsible for all Fed-Ex & UPS shipping and tracking of packages to buyers, factories & appointments.
