Assistant Designer - Accessories

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Reports to Senior Designer.
• Responsible for researching global markets in order to identify new trends, techniques, silhouettes and emerging pet product categories.
• Responsible for designing pet products including dog / cat bowls, toys, collars, leashes, harnesses, hats, beds and carriers in collaboration with the Senior Designer.
• Design and merchandise to coordinate back to seasonal apparel collections.
• Ensures that product is consistent with market trends as well as business strategy as it relates to market demands and brand image.
• Follows product from concept through to pre-production samples.
• Prepare materials for meetings, presentations and coordinate logistics thereof.
• Ability to understand / anticipate the needs of the customer in order to exceed customer expectations and readily react to their needs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Design or equivalent experience.
• 0-2 years of accessories, apparel or industrial design experience.
• Proficient skills in Illustrator and Photoshop with ability to recolor artwork, make swatches and make repeats.
• Exceptional talent with a commercial fashion eye and detail in product styling / performance and functionality.
• Ability to champion change with ability to react with speed and agility.
• Experience designing a variety of product categories.
• Solid presentation and organizational skills.
• Collaborative partner with a team-oriented approach.
• Highly motivated, passionate and results oriented.
• Flexible and creative problem solver.
• Children accessory or pet accessories experience a plus.
