Reporting Relationship: The Assistant, Design is a key support role within Owned Brands reporting to the Director, Design.

Major Responsibilities:

The Assistant, Design will offer support to the Director, Design in the successful execution of a brand design strategy. In this role, the core responsibilities are to offer assistance in delivering timely execution of key design milestones from concept through final buy meeting. The Assistant, Design also supports the collaboration with execution partners including sourcing, technical design, merchandising, planning, and buying.

 

Role Responsibilities Include:
• Support development and delivery of Seasonal Design Strategy.
• Support timely execution of Design Calendar.
• Collaboration with execution partners - internal and external.

• Responsible for filing and maintaining physical and digital libraries, including samples, fabric, trims and color.

• Responsible for tech pack creation and execution with internal and external partners.

Qualifications

Professional Qualifications:


•  Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in design or merchandising
•  1-3 years of related experience

•  Knowledge of current Design technology including Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office

•  Understanding of garment construction

•  Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

•  Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize
•  Professional demeanor and appearance
•  Commitment to learning the development process as relates to overseas factories
•  Confidence to present research trends and designs to managers
•  Ideal candidate would be able to work in a professional fast paced environment and be able to deal with shifting priorities.
