Assistant-Associate designer

Rachel Zoe Collection is looking for an Assistant Designer/ Associate Designer to join their Design team. 

The Assistant Designer/ Associate Designer is responsible for assisting the Head Designer with all aspects of the design process. The Assistant Designer / Associate Designer should contribute in creating new collection through research and have proficient knowledge of Adobe programs in both Mac and PC, and be able to maintain organization of all materials needed for meetings and fittings. 

Responsibilities:

• Research new ideas, concepts, and trends
• Sketch new design ideas and create detailed tech packs
• Prepare and actively participate in fittings
• Update sketches according to adjustments made in fittings
• Create artworks/layouts for new prints and fabrics
• Create pitch sheets for new prints and fabrics to send to overseas factories
• Create and edit line sheets
• Comment and approve strike offs
• Attend all meetings and keep detailed notes
• Manage interns and give clear directions

Qualifications:

• College degree in Fashion Design
• 0-3 years of experience in fashion industry
• Must have proficient knowledge of Adobe programs and Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of handling/creating prints, Embellishments and/or fabric layout and in Adobe photoshop and working between Photoshop and Illustrator
• Ability to sketch and draw flats by hand
• Strong knowledge of garment construction & details
• Ability to multi-task, handling multiple seasons, and setting priorities
• Strong time management and organization skills
• Ability to handle stressful situations while remaining professional and organized
