APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT PROJECT LEAD / PLM ADMINISTRATOR

General Summary:

Work in conjunction with the user community and the IT team to analyze and design complex solutions to business and/or system problems at the module, system, or environment level. Translate solution requirements into design and programming specifications for developers. Plan, design, develop, and coordinate structured efforts as a project leader on major tasks. Gather requirements and document complex system and application solutions to assist in automating business processes. Provide team / user support and direction as required.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Administer PLM system (add/change attributes, data dictionary, etc.).
  • Enhance/support the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
  • Assist in the implementation & post go-live support of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Facilitate business process analysis and re-engineering efforts for client PLM, New Product Introduction, Commercialization, and Product Data Management processes.
  • Design and configure PLM software solutions to incorporate new business processes as needed.
  • Perform data conversion design/loading activities.
  • Gather requirements for custom reporting.
  • Significant interaction with users for requirement analysis and design of complex solutions at the module, system, or multiple system level.
  • Consults with internal and external clients to analyze and understand complex functions at the system level or between multiple systems. Perform complex analysis and design at the system or multiple system level.
  • Produce and utilize advanced, complex, design documentation at a module or system level. Produce effective, professional user communications for both internal and external clients. Create functional specifications for programming staff.
  • Provide design direction to programming staff both orally and written. Plan and organize project workloads within the team and with the internal and external user community. Be able to fill the role of project leader on major projects.
  • Provide occasional off-hour support scheduled for code deployment, trouble shooting and system maintenance.

Position Requirements:

  • 4 years BA/BS degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • 5-8 years information technology experience with at least 3 years of business (Apparel) system experience.
  • 2 – 4 years previous experience with the PLM systems, or 2 – 4 years work experience in the fields of New Product Introduction, Product Development, or Project and Portfolio Management.
  • Understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) concepts.
  • Experience with all aspects of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience with Gerber Technology YuniquePLM a plus.
  • Experience with SQL a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Reporting Services a plus.
  • Experience with Visual Basic a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Excellent analysis and design skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within or lead a team.
  • Effective with ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
