The Overview

The Account Manager (Account Executive) will play an integral role in establishing RGI Home’s strategic sales and product direction serving as a general manager for a portfolio of mid-tier and off-price accounts. You will help communicate our customers’ needs and experiences to better position RGI’s products in the global home organization market, while effectively driving sales by partnering with the RGI product development team and the account buying offices to plan, manage and grow our business. We are seeking experienced candidates who are energetic and resourceful self-starters. A candidate’s success depends upon their flexibility while working in a dynamic, fast-changing entrepreneurial environment. You will be an active participant in the development of an organization, whose work will reflect our vision and passion. You will not only be adaptable, but also a leader.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow sales for assigned account base ensuring that margin and sales projections are met on a consistent basis
  • Plan monthly product assortment for assigned account base
  • Meet with account buying teams to present new product and place new orders
  • Partner and communicate with appropriate buyers on all sales and product related issues including analysis of sales trends, emerging product opportunities and any general account specific matters
  • Work closely with the RGI product management and design teams on new product development and arrange all product line review meetings
  • Partner with product management on final line review and approval
  • Strategically manage pricing from a retail and wholesale perspective while considering account merchandise assortment plan in order to achieve margin goals
  • Competitive shopping analysis of relevant market to assess competitive landscape, white space opportunities, and any product deficiencies/opportunities
  • Collaborate with broader account and product management team to keep abreast of broader trends and new product opportunities
  • Coordinate and lead client meetings and recap with senior management team as necessary
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors degree in Merchandising, Business or other closely related field
  • 6+ years experience in wholesale sales and/or retail buying/merchandising preferably within home furnishings, apparel, accessories or other closely related CPG organization
  • Experience with off-price account base and/or managing a private label business strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated quantitative aptitude with proficient planning acumen including merchandise planning, retail planning or replenishment planning
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities combined with a collaborative orientation
  • Ability to manage accounts independently
  • Detailed oriented and excellent organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
  • Knowledge of product costing combined with prior experience working with overseas sourcing offices strongly preferred
  • Strong presentation skills – verbal, written and visual
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast paced constantly changing environment
