SUMMARY

Perry Ellis International is seeking a dynamic, high-performing sales professional responsible for achieving or exceeding quantified sales budgets set for each account, for both Brick & Mortar and Ecom channels, by representing Perry Ellis International product, image, policies, goals and objectives, while maintaining the budgeted profit goals. He or she will be responsible for managing an established client base, as well as proactively hunting and closing new business. The ideal fit will have 5 years of Department Stores retail experience with a focus on golf brand sales.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Directly responsible for a segment of the business, or particular brand or brands, in addition to standard Account Executive duties and responsibilities
  • Interfaces with Buyer for successful order execution 
  • Interact strategically with PEI upper management
  • Begin process of learning skills necessary to manage personnel, although management of personnel not inclusive at this juncture
  • Meet with retail buyers and upper management to present product releases on continuous basis and sell to achieve set budgets for each account
  • Partner with the Planning Dept to ensure gross margin goals are achieved
  • Build, manage and deliver budgets and sales forecasts
  • Develop and present assortments and door plan recommendations
  • Understanding the chargebacks process of each account. Research and establish action points to reduce them
  • Pre-meeting preparation with those involved to strategize and organize
  • Sales presentation set up/ follow through including: Meeting agendas and meeting recaps that are proactive and results oriented
  • Understand competitor’s strengths and weaknesses
  • Inventory management – move available to sell
  • Travel to accounts and trade shows as necessary
  • Make sure sales information is accurate on the system 

SKILLS: 

  • Ability to communicate verbally & written to upper management of PEI and retailer.
  • Ability to work directly with Merchandising, Design, Marketing, Sourcing, and other departments within PEI.
  • Must possess excellent communication, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Detailed oriented and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage accounts independently
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook.  
  • Advanced knowledge of retail math
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 4 year college degree
  • Minimum of 5 years proven record in men's apparel sales and/or retail buying experience

Salary offered will be commensurate with experience. For this New York based position, the expected base salary is $73,600 - $100,00.
