Go-Comb Account Executive, Part-Time

Go-Comb is a growing beauty accessories brand with its patented line of combs that fit in a wallet (www.go-comb.com). With styles for men and women, Go-Comb’s premium line of intricately designed coated metal combs have excelled in the museum store, gift and salon/barbershop markets. The product is highly rated (4.7+ stars on Amazon, 450+ reviews) and has been featured in countless, major press publications. The brand is looking for a motivated, part-time account executive to expand Go-Comb’s wholesale reach and to launch a lower-cost line to new markets.

 

About the position:

The Account Executive is responsible for maintaining existing wholesale accounts, as well as building new relationships with retailers and closing sales. Position requires prospecting and developing new accounts, with a focus on building on long-term customer relationships and increasing sales revenue. The Account Executive will be in charge of the entire B2B sales process, and will be expected to plan for the long-term as well as execute day-to-day sales tasks.

This is a great opportunity for a highly-motivated and independent worker, who is looking for a flexible work situation. Hours would be 15-20 hrs/week. The Account Executive will work remotely with the exception of weekly meetings, to be conducted in our Brooklyn, NY headquarters or on video conference (option to work at the office is possible). The Account Executive reports to the CEO.

 

Compensation:

Includes a base hourly wage plus generous commission. Depending on success of candidate, income including commission could range from $25,000-60,000/year (only working 15-20 hrs per week). If employee is very successful then role can convert to full-time if desired.

 

Start date: As soon as possible

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:               

  • Plan quarterly and yearly sales strategies in collaboration with Go-Comb leadership.

  • Extensive cold calling and, where relevant, in-person visits to develop new buying relationships.

  • Develop creative digital campaigns and mailings to generate sales.

  • Negotiate pricing, volumes and timelines for large orders.

  • Accurately and thoroughly complete digital sales forms for clients and for internal tracking.

  • Accurately submit POs to fulfillment and keep clients informed on their order progress.

  • Organized reporting for weekly check-ins.

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of wholesale industry in the gift, beauty, fashion and/or promotional product markets.

  • Proven ability to meet and exceed specified sales goals.

  • Excellent and professional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong relationship building and business development skills.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, presentation and merchandising skills.

  • Competitive desire to grow the Go-Comb business.

  • Clear, common sense thinker with critical reasoning skills.

  • Able to obtain information, evaluate alternatives, seek advice, make recommendations and take action.

  • Proficiency in Google Docs (or equivalent skills in Microsoft Word and Excel).

  • Preferably based in the NYC area. May consider a remote position for the right candidate.

 

Education and Experience:          

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in wholesale and/or promotional product sales. Bonus if experience is in the beauty, gift, fashion or promotional product industries.

  • Experience must include successful prospecting and closing new B2B sales accounts.
