2018 Retail Development Program - Logistics

Position Summary:

The Retail Development Program – Logistics prepares you for a career in Logistics and Supply Chain Operations at Belk.  Associates will participate in professional development opportunities with the broader Retail Development Program cohort, complete on-the-job projects in Distribution or Fulfillment centers that increase understanding of our operations, and job shadowing through areas of the business while interacting and building relationships with Logistics leaders. Participants are also matched with mentors to help acclimate to Belk, develop on the job, and identify future career possibilities. 

The Retail Development Program – Logistics will hire candidates direct to consumer fulfillment center located near Spartanburg, SC. Participants will benefit from an engaged leadership team and a large network of peers across Belk in the Retail Development Program. 

On the Job Experiences Include:

  • Work in a fast paced, dynamic, test and learn environment
  • Shadowing assignments and leadership exposure across areas of Logistics
  • Complete assigned projects by working with others within Logistics, gaining a broad perspective on both the functions of the Direct-to-Consumer Fulfillment network and how it relates to the overall goals of the company
  • Work off shifts to understand impact on the business (Belk operations running 24 hours a day)
  • Act as a supervisor for various sections to understand fulfillment operations

Requirements/Qualifications:

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree required; Strong academic performance (3.2 GPA or higher) preferred
  • Must have graduated within 6 months of June 2018 and able to start full time June 2018
  • Prior internship in field strongly preferred 
  • Open to learning, able to adapt to changing circumstances and reprioritize tasks as needed
  • Leadership skills that include professional business ethics, confidence and self-motivation
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and manage complex relationships
  • Strong business background with ability to analyze data, draw conclusions and act decisively
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, customers and all levels of the organization
  • Committed to meeting goals and deadlines within a dynamic, fast-paced and results-oriented environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by Belk for this position now or in the future
