What This Position Is All About: 

Saks Off 5th (SO5) is seeking a candidate to identify, develop and integrate innovative solutions and programs that lead to improvements that redefine the standards for fulfillment center and customer service. The Supply Chain (SC) Process Improvement team combines SO5 values and technology with the best of lean management and six sigma to achieve operations excellence. We utilize Lean Six Sigma based continuous improvement methodologies to engage teams to solve customer problems. The team drives operations performance and cost saving by eliminating wastes, reducing and automating manual work and hand-offs, identifying and implementing best practices across the business, and minimizing process variability through standardization and automation. We execute these priorities through supply chain initiatives, Kaizen events, and by supporting critical programs and projects.

 

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or another related field
  • +10 years of qualitative/quantitative experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Process/production Management. Lean Six Sigma is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills •
  • Ability to articulate their position and achieve buy in
  • Solid organizational and inter-personal skills with the ability to foster productive relationships at every level
  • Creative problem-solving ability and multi-tasking competing priorities
  • Strong experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Knowledge in quality control
  • Knowledge of different process innovation methodologies and their practical application.
  • Demonstrated success in cost saving initiatives
  • Experience working independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to overcome obstacles and deliver results

 

As the Senior Manager, Supply Chain Process Improvement you will:

  • Fulfilment Center design and new facility launch. Conduct new FC demands and cost analysis, building launch master plan, layout design, facilities and equipment design, engineering design, headcount design and training plan, risk assessment and mitigation plan, trial-run plan etc.
  • Develop and implement unified tools and information systems to support FC/CS project planning and execution
  • Build relationships with project stakeholders including merchant, finance, fulfillment center, supply chain, customer service and various business stakeholders that fosters a strong focus on FC/CS process improvement
  • Support the creation of mechanisms and metrics to track FC/CS performance related to safety, quality, delivery and cost
  • Facilitate business reviews to discuss best practices and to improve FC/CS performance while strengthen business partnerships across teams
  • Training our associates with lean thinking and tools, driving Kaizen events, and sharing best practices cross operations network
  • Establish process standard work through driving TAKT, standard WIP and standard work sequence. Promote management standard work through setting up 5S/4M audits, management checklist, visual management and Gemba Walk etc. mechanisms
  • Set up new associates learning curve measurement system and track new hires learning curve performance
