Job Title: Vice President, E-Commerce

Primary Purpose: The Vice President, Global E-Commerce will have direct responsibility for building Kate Spade’s Global Direct business through strategic positioning and tactical execution of the website and maximization of third party relationships in order to support long-term growth. The leader will have the scope of evolving all digital platforms into a fully integrated in-house business. The ideal person for this role will be someone that holds a track record of successfully launching ecommerce businesses in multi-channel, global, environments from end-to-end while providing strategy that supports the overall brand revenue goals and profitability. They also must possess a keen understanding of brand and performance marketing to drive the revenue and traffic for all global businesses. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the strategy, lead the execution and development of the Global Ecommerce business with operations in NA, Japan, China and EU.
  • Manage the global budgets and drive the P&L to grow the online business
  • Work collaboratively within Kate Spade and Tapestry to ensure execution of key initiatives that lead to increased market share and profitability.
  • Partner with global team across areas of ecommerce strategy, site experience, buying & planning
  • Manage external vendors, contracts, relationships and technical requirements to continue to develop and enhance the ecommerce platform.
  • Provide strategic direction and vision for the global digital businesses that support the overall direction for the brand.
  • Lead a team that partners with Tapestry IT to implement roadmap strategy for Kate Spade and advocate on behalf of the brand.
  • Partner closely with CMO and Brand Marketing team to manage the content calendar and digital marketing initiatives for ecommerce, including home page, landing page, email, search, affiliate, performance and social media to support the brand and business objectives.
  • Establish the ecommerce sites as the kate spade digital flagship store, merging content and commerce to provide customers with the ultimate shopping and brand experience
  • Build brand recognition for kate spade as the global online life and style destination amongst target customers, the industry and the media.
  • Capitalize on evolving industry trends and technology that supports the brand vision and goals.
  • Analyze and communicate results on key drivers on overall business performance; utilize findings to develop both tactical and strategic recommendations and execute against those strategies.
  • Partner with merchants and planners to drive site-merchandising strategies, ensuring optimal presentation of product as measured by conversion and average order size
  • Foster an innovative environment to ensure the brand obtains position as forward thinking leaders in the e-commerce space.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required - MBA preferred.
  • Previous global ecommerce experience
  • Keen understanding of UX/UI with customer experience at the forefront
  • Strong marketing sensibility and ability to balance content and commerce
  • 15+ years of experience in Ecommerce
  • Strong technical expertise managing complex global ecommerce platform initiatives
  • Ability to lead a global team of various skill sets and levels
  • Ability to influence others and champion for projects on the brand’s behalf
  • Passion to drive top-line growth using web marketing, analytics and multi-channel leverage.
  • Ability to have an analytical and brand marketing mindset
  • Ability to apply analysis to influence business decisions to drive retail performance.
  • Track record of creating and executing traffic/business driving initiatives that resulted in real synergy between retail and .com; has executed successful channel integration strategies.
