In 1983, after running two companies as a sales manager, Peter Jacobson formed Creative Concepts. The company was originally launched with a focus on a unique concept - promoting California designers in the contemporary market. With a strong retail background after growing up in the clothing business, and with training at Marks and Spencer in London, Galleries Lafayette in Paris and Federated stores in Los Angeles, he felt well equipped to launch an independent showroom.
