ASSOCIATE TECHNICAL DESIGNER - Women's Private Label

Established Women's Private Label company looking to hire a mid-­senior level Technical Designer to work with our Design/Production team!

 

Communicate with buyer and vendors and respond to any technical, fit and production related questions.

 

  • Measure and evaluate garments from proto sample through TOP within category assignment.
  • coordinating fitting samples - entering style information, updates, and POMs
  • Conducts thorough fittings with Director of Technical Design and Head Designer to assure that each style is successfully executed.
  • Identifies potential fit problems and follows through to ensure all glitches are resolved prior to scheduled releases.
  • Monitor and maintain fit, construction, grading and workmanship standards for each product category and ensure consistency.
  • Write fit comments with all necessary detailed sketches & photos.
  • Relay all fit comments, sewing corrections, and/or design changes to the factory.
  • Work with TD manager, designers, and create specs / construction sheets for proto and fit samples utilizing blocks.
  • Initiate and maintain tech packs for development and production.
  • Communicate with appropriate departments for approvals and production, quality or costing.
  • Track status of each assigned style daily and update line sheets/production status.
  • Communicate with clients and overseas factories on a daily basis.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Minimum 2 years of Spec Writing, technical design, pattern making or related experience.
  • Fashion Degree in Technical Design or related experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Illustrator, Photoshop,
  • Knowledge of fit, grading and pattern making
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and successful track record in a team ­oriented environment.
