Production Manager

Apparel Product Development Manager

Fashion and style driven South Florida based Uniform Company is looking for a Product Development Manager to take our Product Design and Development to the next level. This role leads the PD department from concept to final development at the factory, including: pre-production process, managing the Product Calendar Timeline from Concept to Pre-production approval. Depending on experience, the role may also encompass market research and competitive analysis.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Main contact to the Vendor/Contractor for all development.
  • Responsible for costing sheets. Initial and updates.
  • Work effectively with Design, Production and Vendors
  • Ensure development tracking reports are updated and made available for weekly meetings
  • Ensure on time delivery and quality of prototypes, fit garments, and sales team samples. 
  • Create and maintain fit samples, PP samples and TOP sample library.
  • Maintain fabric library.
  • Lead weekly Development Meetings
  • Attend fit sessions with Design and Production teams.
  • PLM Role – assign development numbers, open new tech packs, send seasonal and core concept tech packs to the factories.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred - College degree in Apparel/Textile Design/Development or a related field
  • Preferred - 5-8 years of experience in Product Development and/or apparel sourcing.
  • Excellent organizational/communication/Interpersonal/problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of costing/fitting/grading/construction and apparel-related technologies
  • Strong understanding of design, development and merchandising process from inception through production.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships. 
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-pace environment and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Flexibility for domestic and international travel as needed.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus but not mandatory
