Production Coordinator

RDG Global, LLC an apparel company based in NYC, seeks a Production Coordinator to join our pre-production team.The pre-production team is responsible for managing production from cost inquiry through x-factory.

We deliver private label sweaters and sportswear from conception through completion. With robust product development capabilities complemented by a keen understanding of trend, our company produces apparel across its own proprietary labels and under license. We partner with leading retailers, providing them with current trend direction.

We are a fashion house that is highly experienced at developing products and manufacturing in a wide array of styles and size ranges and can meet the needs of consumers in all apparel categories including missy, junior, contemporary, plus, petite, children, accessories, and sleepwear.

Main Responsibilities/Functions Include but are not limited to:

  • Daily communication with overseas vendors.
  • Lead weekly WIP meetings with all brands as needed.
  • Downtime recap, organization, and cost negotiations yearly (peak time for production).
  • Support the company with alerts of CNY closure calendars and other factory holiday closures.
  • Support Manager on costing inquiries
  • Responsible for managing cost charts and holding all cost communications with the factories.
  • Assist their manager with cost chart maintenance and communication with the factories on cost requests.
  • Manage all stages of costing such as flash costing, line costing, counter costing, and final cost negotiation with allocated factory.
  • T&A’s will be requested by the Pre-Production team.
  • Responsible ensure a T&A is received from the FTYS for all styles as well as save all T&As in the Master T&A folder on the share drive.
  • Assist the Preproduction Manger in approving and challenging T&A dates.
  • Manage the WIP reports sent from the factories.
  • Review the WIPs and distribute a WIP recap to the tech team, color team, and sales teams, calling out any major concerns or red flags that need to be addressed immediately. WIP Flips will be held to discuss any of these concerns further.
  • Track/chase sample status, lab dips, bulk fabric approval, fit samples, comments, and deliveries with vendors via the WIP while also following up on the Time & Action calendar. This chart must be updated regularly.
  • Communicate priorities with cross functioning teams to ensure comments are released.  
  • Factories are required to send parcel information via the Submits Tracker. You will be responsible for saving these charts in the share drive and distributing them to the appropriate teams (tech, color, etc.)

Knowledge / Skills Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in apparel or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in fabric/garment production experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of organizational skills
  • Must be detail oriented and be able to follow instructions
  • PC Proficient, including Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel mastery a plus)
  • Ability to work well in a cross functional environment
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced and changing priority environment
